Let’s go digital

Since the 2010 Houdini “Centenary of Flight” Celebrations some residents have become interested in developing an online historical archive for Diggers Rest.

The area is rich in history especially being the first stop over point on the way to the gold fields in the 1800’s.

We are currently gathering articles, stories and images which will be used to populate an online community archive.

Many residents have already contributed some fascinating images and stories which will soon be collated and made available online.

The new residential development for Diggers Rest is expected to create a changing demographic bringing cultural diversity and new opportunities to our door step.

Diggers Rest has a strong historical legacy, a legacy which should be preserved and made available for all future generations to enjoy.

If you feel that you, or your family can contribute to this project, then please feel free to call the Diggers Rest Historical Group on 9740 1060.

**All material offered will be digitised and kept safe prior to being returned.
