Did you know that Melton Shire Youth Services offers young people, parents and community members in Melton (including Diggers Rest) an after hours support service?
A highly visible van is is used to provide safe transport to young people who feel vulnerable or unsafe to walk alone or who cannot make it home any other way on Friday and Saturday evenings. The van has been painted in brightly coloured artwork to promote the work of the program to the community.
Areas targeted by the 6801 program include drug and alcohol information, safe transport, police liaison, emergency accommodation, housing support and community education programs.
6801 Youth Outreach workers can be contacted on 9743 6801 between 6:00pm to 12:30am on Friday and Saturday nights.
