At the Ordinary Meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday April 29, Council will determine alternative options for the display of the Centenary of Flight Houdini model biplane.
The Melton Model Aircraft Association Inc have requested the model biplane be hung in the atrium of the Melton Library and Learning Hub and that relevant funding be included in the next Council budget toward the cost of hanging the model in the library.
According to the Council report, staff have some issues around potential vandalism and cleaning if the plane was hung in the atrium.
It is recommended that more time is made available to investigate additional options for the display of the plane which could include the Caroline Springs Library or the proposed Diggers Rest Community Centre expected to be built in 2018/19.
