The Government and bush fire authorities have warned that the fire danger period is already upon us. Whilst many enjoy the warmer weather, precautions need to be in place to help keep the community and our families safe.
Melton City Council will be conducting a free Emergency Readiness Workshop at the Diggers Rest Community Hall on Friday October 16, 2015. The event is planned to run from 7:15pm through to 8:15pm and will be presented by Reeta Verma, a Lecturer in Law at La Trobe University, Melbourne.
It’s understood that the session will include the basic steps toward creating a household emergency plan. Diggers Rest is growing and with all the building works currently taking place, snakes are out and about. The workshop will cover the topic of snake bites and what you’ll need to do in the event of one.
