October is Melton Community Safety Month
The next Melton Police & Community Consultative Committe (PCCC) meeting is scheduled to be held in Diggers Rest and the emphasis will focus on “Community Safety Month”. In response to a range of community safety issues raised with both Council and Police, a Community Safety forum is planned for Tuesday, October 14th, 2008, commencing at 7:30pm in the Diggers Rest Community Hall at the Recreation Reserve, Plumpton Road, Diggers Rest. This forum will provide opportunities for residents in Diggers Rest to raise and discuss community safety issues with Inspector Greg Payne and other senior Melton Police as well as Council representatives.
A representative from Melton Youth Services will provide a small presentation about some of the services available to youth within our Shire and in particular the well established “6801” program.
This can be an important step towards improving safety for the Diggers Rest community and as such, the more people that participate in the forum the better the overall outcomes for all.
