The annual community garage sale held yesterday in Diggers Rest has been described by participants as nothing short of a resounding success.
Organised by the Lions Club, this year more than 50 households contributed to the event with a share of the proceeds being donated toward the purchase of a new fire truck for the Diggers Rest Fire Brigade.
Former Melton City Council Mayor Cr. Sophie Ramsey and Watts Ward Councillor Michelle Mendes stopped by to visit one of the participating households.
The event which first began in 2010, continues to attract growing interest from both buyers and sellers alike.
Many locals are now looking forward to next year’s event.
