The Sunbury/Diggers Rest Bicycle Users Group is proactively advocating for the reduction of the speed limit along Vineyard Road in Diggers Rest.
Rapid growth within the region has contributed to larger traffic volumes using Vineyard Road as a major thoroughfare.
The group is seeking community support for the speed limit to be reduced from 80km per hour to 60km per hour.
This follows a notice of motion which was carried at the March 5, 2018 Melton City Council Ordinary Meeting.
The motion proposed that Council write to VicRoads regarding a series of undertakings required to address some serious safety concerns along Vineyard Road, which includes a speed limit reduction.
