Developer plan bonus

Melton City Council approved Amendment C181 at its Ordinary Meeting held last night.

The Amendment applies to all land subject to the Diggers Rest Precinct Structure Plan and the Diggers Rest Development Contributions Plan.

As part of the amended plans, changes to the design of intersections that link Vineyard Road with the outbound lanes of the Calder Freeway will return an estimated overall cost saving of about 6.3 million dollars.

With rapid development in Diggers Rest well underway, Vineyard Road is already experiencing serious traffic related issues for the township.

It’s understood that despite the approximate $6.3m saving, the alternative solution will provide the same outcome, which is a safe and efficient road network around the freeway on-ramp.

The revised plans will also update the names of Government bodies to their current names.

Council prepared the amendment at the request of the owner of 87-193 Davis Road, Diggers Rest.
