At the December Meeting of Council held last night, Council confirmed that planning for the 23Ha employment land in Diggers Rest is currently underway.
Planning and Development Manager for the City of Melton, Mr Luke Shannon advised that an active developer currently has a planning application before Council to commence development of the site.
According to Mr. Shannon, the plans are going through due process with no delays. It’s anticipated the final approval will be granted early in the new year and some development activity should take place shortly after.
Diggers Rest continues to experience significant growth which has seen the residential housing market perform beyond all expectations. Demand to establish localised family businesses within the township remains extremely high and this development will help deliver on the promise of long term employment opportunities for residents.
