Today, Melton City Council have undertaken ‘KEEP CLEAR’ line-marking works at the intersection of Welcome Road and Diggers Rest Coimadai Road.
It’s anticipated the new signage will help to minimise the presence of stationary traffic blocking the intersection which prevents vehicles entering and exiting Welcome Road, especially at peak times.
The intersection has raised cause for concern given that during peak times, traffic queues often spill back onto the railway tracks, creating serious safety issues for the community.
The idea to install the keep clear signage was brought to the attention of Council during public question time in October 2014.
