Last night residents hit the keyboard responding to a Facebook post generating over 60 comments resulting from a lack of festive decorations around Diggers Rest.
The post author was making the comparison to signs and decorations currently installed at Caroline Springs which celebrate Christmas.
In accordance with the comments, the author was seeking to “know why we missed out and if we can change that via submission to council”.
The conversation soon turned toward the perceived inefficiencies of Council with one resident remarking that “we are the forgotten suburb in the Melton council”.
Another commenting that “time we parted ways with Melton”.
Other comments highlighted the need for additional mail boxes throughout the town, commercial signage and for Council to better manage roadside rubbish and grass maintenance.
Many residents appear keen to see the new town centre develop with the added hope to install Christmas decorations in the years to follow.
