The pedestrian crossing located near the intersection of Diggers Rest – Coimadai Road and Welcome Road continues to raise safety concerns for residents. In March 2012, Melton Council committed to reassess the location to determine if the warrant for a formalised crossing is met once the electrification of the train station was completed.
In accordance with the August 15 meeting of Council held last night, Officers have confirmed that they are currently in the process of undertaking various safety assessments that will include addressing safety concerns at this location.
