The COVID-19 global pandemic has seen community driven “bear hunts” popping up all over the country and Diggers Rest is no exception.
Despite encouraging some disciplined outdoor walking activities, the idea of a bear hunt is sure to entertain our youngsters whilst providing much needed respite for parents.
The initiative is inspired by the famous children’s book “We’re going on a bear hunt” by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.
Residents can participate by placing a teddy bear in their front window.
This enables walking families to keep their children active whilst walking around the neighbourhood looking for teddy friends.
Local resident Michelle Rose has created a Facebook Group to help facilitate the Diggers Rest Bear Hunt.
