Water supply interruption

As part of a scheduled water mains maintenance program, Western Water will turn-off the Diggers Rest drinking water supply tomorrow (Wednesday, 19 October 2016) from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Planned water interruptions of this nature are quite common and take place to help ensure maximum water quality and a reliable service to customers.

Although these types of interruptions occur on a daily basis, tomorrows’ disruption involves a greater number of properties than usual.

As such, the team at Western Water have worked tirelessly to reduce the impact on residents.

Some of the steps taken to achieve this include the following:

Every customer affected by the outage was contacted by mail couple of weeks ago. (click here)

A roadside message board was placed in Diggers Rest yesterday.

Land developers were notified.

Water tankers will provide water throughout the day to Diggers Rest Primary School, Houdini’s Café and the Maternal and Child Health Centre, which includes the Kindergarten.

It’s also understood that an SMS reminder will be sent to around 500 customers in the morning and another at the completion of the works.
